NUmail

02/03/2010

The University has launched a new student email system called NUmail.

NUmail is hosted by Microsoft's Live@edu. and was launched on Monday 1 March 2010.

The introduction of the new mail system has also facilitated the shortening of student email addresses. Instead of @studentmail.newcastle.edu.au, you will see @uon.edu.au. Student name details before the @ sign will not change.

Emails sent to old Studentmail addresses will be re-directed to NUmail accounts. Access will be available to the old Studentmail system for a limited period to view and transfer old emails. Advanced notice will be given when Studentmail will be decommissioned.

Live@edu supports these browsers:

● Internet Explorer 7 and later versions
● Firefox 3.0.1 and later versions
● Safari 3.1 and later versions

Students will also be able to access NUmail through by mobile phone. Visit the Microsoft Outlook help pages for information about mobile phone options.

All students of the University of Newcastle are automatically granted a student email account on completion of enrolment. Official University correspondence to students will be sent via this email account, so you should check your student email account regularly.
