Application Requirements for Postgraduate Programs

Admission criteria: If you would like to apply for entry into one of the University of Newcastle's postgraduate programs or individual courses, you are required to meet the following general criteria:

  1. You must have an undergraduate degree from a recognised institution or equivalent appropriate industry experience and qualifications.
  2. You must be able to supply certified copies of all the documents your course requires. (If you have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate award at the University of Newcastle, certified documents are not necessary.)
  3. If you are from a non-English-speaking background, you need to satisfy the University's English language requirements and provide proof of your English proficiency as part of your application.
Some programs have specific entry requirements so please be sure to check your chosen program's admission criteria.

Certified Documentation: You may need to supply documentary evidence with your application. Please do not send original documents. Send only certified copies of relevant documentation. An authorised person of a tertiary or higher education institution may verify copies of original documents with an official stamp and signature. Copies may also be certified as true copies by a Justice of the Peace, a Judge, Magistrate, Legal Practitioner or Notary. The certifier must provide his or her name, address, phone number and identification number (if applicable) and the date on each document. Certified documents (for example qualifications and certificates) must be provided by post or in person. Applicants do not need to submit certified documentation of their previous University of Newcastle studies.
